In this report we present two patients with carcinoid syndrome who underwent excision of a carcinoid tumor of the bowel and hepatectomy for secondaries in the liver. The preoperative preparation, the intraoperative problems and management as well as the outcome are described.

A 19 month old male infant with a mesenchymal hamartoma of the liver underwent an extended right hepatectomy.
