The purpose of this study was to review our intermediate-term experience with posterior fracture-dislocations of the hip. Cervical laminoplasty was the operation used for myeloradiculopathy secondary to ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligaments. Some 57 patients were followed up for 5-13 years (average: 7.8 years). It is often possible to establish the origin of an arthosis of the hip joint radiologically. Only in 17 out of 445 patients were we unable to arrive at a classification because the arthrosis was already too advanced. INTRODUCTION: Open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) with articular reconstruction is the standard treatment for distal humerus fractures; however, ORIF is challenging in elderly patients with severe comminution and poor bone quality.
