PURPOSE: We evaluated the efficacy of a renal displacement simulator originally developed at our department for retroperitoneal laparoscopic nephrectomy.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: A total of 12 patients with a malignant localized renal (7) or ureteral (5) neoplasm underwent multidetector row computerized tomography. Imaging data were sent to a dedicated work station to create volume rendering and virtual laparoscopic images of the kidney, which was displaced ventral using a retroperitoneal balloon. These findings were compared with video images obtained during laparoscopy surgery.

BACKGROUND: To find a safe and effective method of pelvic reconstruction after abdominoperineal resection in order to prevent small intestine from descending into the pelvis. This allows safe delivery of optimal doses of radiation therapy, which exceed radiation tolerance of the small intestine, in advanced stages of colorectal cancer.

Lymphangiosarcoma is an extremely rare tumour in dogs with only 16 cases reported in the literature. Lymphoedema, which may be primary due to defects in the lymphatic system, or secondary to various other pathologies, often precedes malignancy. BACKGROUND: Primary mucinous adenocarcinomas of the kidney are rare and pose a challenge for preoperative diagnosis. The histogenesis of these tumours remains largely unknown, with three proposed theories: chronic irritation, differentiation of celomic epithelium, and kidney maldevelopment. Three cases are reported of TURBT on the anterior wall, with bladder rupture occurring after discharge. Patient 1 was a 68-year-old man. Diagnosis of unicentric Castleman disease (UCD) is not easy before the resection and obtainment of pathological result. We retrospectively summarized 10-year experience of clinical evaluation and management for retroperitoneal UCD in Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH) between December 1, 2009 and December 31, 2019. OBJECTIVE: To describe clinical management and outcomes of a cohort of patients with malignant mesothelioma of the tunica vaginalis testis (MMTVT) who received treatments beyond radical orchiectomy.

BACKGROUND: The absence of disease after debulking surgery is the most important prognostic factor in the treatment of advanced epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC). Occasionally, the presence of extra-abdominal disease complicates the ability to obtain a complete surgery, considering some locations of the metastatic disease as unresectable. The objective of the study was to estimate the survival impact of pelvic retroperitoneal invasion and extrapelvic and aortic distant nodal metastases in EOC patients. The anatomical landmarks of primary cytoreductive surgery will be discussed.
