Hypertrichosis is a well-recognized adverse effect of therapy with either cyclosporine or minoxidil. We present a case of extreme hypertrichosis in an eight-year-old male liver transplant recipient who received concurrent cyclosporine and minoxidil therapy. A review of drug-induced hypertrichosis is presented.

Hypertrichosis lanuginosa acquisita was observed in a female patient with small-cell follicular lymphoma stage IVB. The patient had additional complaints of a burning sensation on the tip of the tongue and the sudden appearance of several seborrheic keratoses on hands and forearms. The findings are well in agreement with those reported in the literature. Becker's nevus is cosmetically bothersome both due to the hyperpigmentation and due to the hypertrichosis which can accompany it, particularly in males. Laser hair removal can be considered, but the pigmented background of the Becker's nevus makes the treatment more challenging. Fifteen patients with Becker's nevus underwent eight sessions of hair removal with low-fluence high-repetition-rate diode lasers (808-810 nm). Primary hypothyroidism may present with atypical features in children. Here we report a 6-year-old female child with primary hypothyroidism presenting with a combination of several atypical features in the form of hypertrichosis, bilateral cystic ovaries, and feedback pituitary adenoma.

Hypomelanosis of Ito and naevoid hypertrichosis are both uncommon disorders and their coexistence in the same patient is rarely described. Most previously reported patients, in addition to cutaneous lesions, had multiple neurological, musculoskeletal and other organ system involvements. We present the case of a 3-year-old girl with these two naevoid disorders at sites completely exclusive of each other and without any severe associated defects.

We report the case of a girl with hypertrichosis lanuginosa congenita treated with diode laser depilation since the age of 9 months. The treatment was well tolerated, and neither general nor local anesthesia was needed. A reduction of approximately 80% of facial and body hair was noted, which improved her condition significantly.
