Functional antithrombin (AT) deficiency is an inherited thrombophilic disorder that can present as venous thrombosis at atypical sites. We report the case of a 47-year-old man with a family history of venous thromboembolism who presented with thrombosis involving the splenoportal confluence and the superior mesenteric vein. Initial laboratory evaluation revealed normal AT activity levels and a negative standard thrombophilia panel. Tonne-Kalscheuer syndrome (TOKAS) is a rare X-linked neurodevelopmental disorder with very few reported cases. We describe the case of a male neonate born at 27 weeks' gestation to a 41-year-old mother, with a diagnosis of TOKAS established antenatally through whole-exome sequencing after ultrasound revealed nuchal translucency, hydrops fetalis, structural cardiac abnormalities, and severe fetal growth restriction. X-linked keratosis follicularis spinulosa decalvans (KFSD) is a rare disorder affecting both skin and eyes. In the two extended KFSD families analysed to date, the gene was mapped to Xp22.13-p22.2.
