Serous effusions occur in a small group of patients with classic Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL). Most effusions are benign inflammatory fluids. Malignant effusions predominantly in patients with treated relapsed diseases or rarely as a primary manifestation are diagnostically challenging to cytopathologists. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the etiology of pleural effusions (PE) in adults and the accuracy of pleural fluid (PF) cytology and cultures in malignant and infectious PE, respectively.
PATIENTS AND METHODS: Retrospective analysis of all consecutive patients with PE undergoing diagnostic thoracentesis during the last 19 years in a university hospital.

The authors report the formation of hard exudates and macular scarring after laser photocoagulation therapy in patients with retinopathy of prematurity (ROP). The present case is a 5-month-old female with atopic dermatitis who was brought to hospital for growth failure noted upon regular health examination. Osseous haemophilic pseudotumours are uncommon. Mandibular haemophilic pseudotumours are rare, with only approximately 12 cases reported in the literature to date.
