A 62-year-old man was found to have an asymptomatic ascending aortic aneurysm (6.6 cm) associated with severe aortic regurgitation. Operative resection of the wall of the aneurysm disclosed its cause to be multiple healed intimal-medial tears without dissection involving a previously normal aorta. The concept of an intimal-medial tear unassociated with aortic dissection is a poorly recognized entity and these tears appear to be asymptomatic and after the aortic tearing lead to aneurysmal formation.

Primary cardiac malignant tumor is rare and is associated with poor survival. We report a case of primary cardiac intimal sarcoma. A 41-year-old man was admitted to our hospital with congestive heart failure. We performed tumor resection under emergency. The pathological diagnosis of the resected tumor was cardiac intimal sarcoma. There have been few reports of cardiac intimal sarcoma, and the frequency of its occurrence and prognosis are unknown. Surgery and postoperative radiation therapy may improve the prognosis.

Carotid webs are intraluminal shelf-like projections caused by thickening of the arterial tunica intima. Due to their projections forming a nidus for thrombus formation and subsequent embolus, they are considered to be a rare cause of ischaemic strokes. We report a case of a woman with a background of recurrent ischaemic strokes due to bilateral carotid webs who presented with a twin pregnancy. We use this case to discuss how her pregnancy-related stroke risk was subsequently medically managed.

In our work we presented the role of examination of intima - media thickness (IMT) of carotid arteries in its extracranial parts by using high resolution ultrasonography in evaluation of progression of atherosclerosis, organ damage and efficacy of hyperlipemic and antihypertensive therapy. On the basis of contemporary literature we described influences of other factors e.g. obesity, hypertension, ages on value of IMT. We also presented some of important intervention program in which the IMT was surrogate marker of cardiovascular diseases.

INTRODUCTION: Aortic dissection occurs following a tear in the tunica intima of the aortic wall resulting in blood entering between the intima and media. Type A aortic dissection can rarely manifest as upper limb malperfusion.
CASE PRESENTATION: This is regarding a patient who presented with intermittent malperfusion of the bilateral upper limbs and was initially managed as acute limb ischemia. BACKGROUND: The prognostic implication of initial focal contrast enhancement (FCE), including focal intimal disruption (FID) and intramural blood pool (IBP), in acute type B intramural hematoma (IMH) remain unclear.
