In this study, under a sonochemical method, a 3D, porous Zn(II)-based metal-organic framework [Zn(TDC)(4-BPMH)]n·n(H2O) is produced, which is called compound 1. To this end, the dicarboxylate linker of TDC, (2,5-thiophene dicarboxylic acid) and the pillar spacer of 4-BPMH, (N,N-bis-pyridin-4-ylmethylene-hydrazine) were employed. Moreover, variations in the morphology and growth of the micro/nanoparticles of compound 1 were investigated in terms of the effect of temperature, ultrasound irradiation power, sonication time, initial reagent concentrations, and pyridine concentration as a modulator.

New 1-substituted-biguanide derivatives 1-3 were synthesized by the reaction of 2,4-dimethoxyaniline, hydrazine and methylhydrazine with dicyandiamide in diluted hydrochloric acid. The two hydrazone-compounds 2-(phenylethylhydrazono)-propionic acid (PEHP) and 2-(2-cyclohexyl-ethylhydrazono)-propionic acid (CHEHP) significantly lowered the blood glucose level in several laboratory animals fasted 48 hours (guinea pigs, mice, hamsters and rats). Six patients diagnosed as Parkinson's disease on a clinical basis alone are described, and their response to L-dopa and to alpha methyl dopa hydrazine (MK 486) and L-dopa. A high-throughput optical assay has been developed and validated for the direct determination of salivary phosphates. The assay is based on the adaptation of an advantageous version of the molybdenum blue reaction (using Sn(II)/hydrazine as the reductant) in a microplate platform combined with instrument-free detection using an overhead book scanner.
