Pain and sociodemographic factors as moderating roles in the relationship between postoperative nausea-vomiting and recovery quality: A process macro modeling study from a nursing perspective on laparoscopic cholecystectomy patients.

Postoperative nausea, vomiting, and pain are common complications following laparoscopic cholecystectomy, and their impact on recovery quality remains a critical concern in surgical nursing practice. The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between postoperative nausea and vomiting and recovery quality in patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy and to evaluate the moderating roles of sociodemographic factors and pain in this relationship. A cross-sectional, multi-center, correlational design was employed using validated scales and PROCESS Macro (Model 1) moderating analys

Implementation and effectiveness of a nurse-enabled, shared-care follow-up model for early breast cancer survivors (The IBIS-Survivorship Study): protocol for a stepped-wedge cluster randomised trial.

INTRODUCTION: Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women worldwide. Survivors often experience physical and psychological effects arising from breast cancer and its treatment, which can last months and years, adversely impacting quality of life. As the number of early breast cancer survivors increases, models of specialist-led follow-up care in hospital settings are not sustainable and evidence suggests that they may not meet survivors' needs. Nurse-enabled, shared-care, follow-up models between cancer specialist and primary care teams have potential to address this need.

Factors associated with long-stay nursing home admissions among the U.S. elderly population: comparison of logistic regression and the Cox proportional hazards model with policy implications for social work.

Two statistical methods were compared to identify key factors associated with long-stay nursing home (LSNH) admission among the U.S. elderly population. Social Work's interest in services to the elderly makes this research critical to the profession. Effectively transitioning the "baby boomer" population into appropriate long-term care will be a great societal challenge. It remains a challenge paramount to the practice of social work. Secondary data analyses using four waves (1995, 1998, 2000, and 2002) of the Health Retirement Study (HRS) coupled with the Assets and Health Dynamics among the

Predictors of osteoporosis self-efficacy among young and middle-aged female nurses based on self-efficacy theory and the health belief model: evidence from a tertiary hospital in Eastern China.

BACKGROUND: Young and middle-aged female nurses face an elevated risk of osteoporosis due to occupational demands and progressive physiological bone loss. However, most existing studies focus on postmenopausal women, and the status of objective and self-perceived osteoporosis risk, knowledge, self-efficacy, and its influencing factors among young and middle-aged female nurses remains unclear. METHOD: A cross-sectional design was used. From August to September 2025, 380female nurses at the First Affiliated Hospital of Ningbo University, a 4,000-bed tertiary referral centre, were invited to par

Nurse-led attribution remodeling training based on the Neuman systems model to enhance resilience, adaptive coping, and attributional style in women newly diagnosed with breast cancer: A randomized controlled trial.

BACKGROUND: Psychological interventions for patients with breast cancer often overlook the critical role of maladaptive attributional style in shaping their adjustment. Therefore, the need for theory-driven, scalable interventions that target cognitive restructuring, particularly during the vulnerable post-diagnosis period, is clear. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effectiveness of a nurse-led attribution remodeling training intervention grounded in the Neuman systems model for improving resilience, adaptive coping, and attributional style among women newly diagnosed with breast cancer. DESIGN: A

Effect of Refined Perioperative Nursing on the Efficacy of Noninvasive Ventilation in Elderly Patients with Lung Cancer and Respiratory Failure.

NIV (noninvasive ventilation) is becoming more popular as a first-line treatment for older patients with lung cancer who are experiencing acute respiratory failure. In the ICU, older age is linked to worse results with mechanical breathing. When dealing with severely sick patients, noninvasive ventilation is beneficial. Due to the risk of NIV failure and the higher mortality induced by delayed intubation, it is difficult to apply to older patients, especially those with lung cancer and respiratory insufficiency. As a result, for a successful outcome, nurse interventions should be provided to p

Prototyping and evaluation of a clinical decision support system in long-term care in German nursing homes.

Demographic change in Germany is increasing the demand for professional long-term care. Given rising requirements and simultaneous staff shortages, the need for digital systems is growing to effectively support nursing staff and mitigate staffing bottlenecks. This article introduces a hybrid clinical decision support system (CDSS) designed to generate actionable intervention recommendations by combining structured data and narrative nursing documentation. The CDSS consists of three interacting components: (1) knowledge models that encode state-of-the-art nursing knowledge, (2) a rule-based exp
