INTRODUCTION AND IMPORTANCE: Pyogenic granuloma (PG) are clinically diagnosed as benign vascular tumors, seen as small red colored growths on exposed surfaces. They occur commonly in skin and mucus membranes and occasionally in subcutaneous tissues. Pyogenic granulomas can arise at the sites of injury or within a vascular malformation or even occurring spontaneously.
CASE PRESENTATION: Author is reporting here a case palmar pyogenic granuloma in a child, which was hindering her day-to-day activities with associated bleeding on touch. Its unique and novel way of management has been described h

Pyogenic granulomas are benign vascular lesions occurring on skin and mucous membranes, most commonly in the oral cavity.A case report of a woman in her 80s who presented with one episode of haemoptysis, secondary to an atypical epiglottic lesion is discussed. The patient denied associated symptoms, such as dyspnoea, dysphasia or recent weight loss. Flexible nasendoscopy and CT scan confirmed a highly vascular pedunculated mass on the left laryngeal surface of the epiglottis. The lesion was completely excised and there was no sign of recurrence after a 12-month follow-up.This case report repre

Dear Editor, We present a case of proximal pyogenic granuloma in 4-year-old child. The patient presented to our Department due to a fast-growing lesion on the proximal part of the nail unit. The lesion had appeared over several weeks, and it was extremely painful for the child. On the day of the 1st visit, the lesion was not bleeding but was very painful during examination and photo-documentation. Clinically, it presented as an exogenous tumoral lesion of the proximal 1/3 of the nail, partially exulcerated with one part exhibiting coagulated hemorrhage and with uneven coloration (Figure 1). Th

A 39-year-old woman experienced dyspnea and progressive dysphagia for 1 year. Dysphagia appeared for solid foods at the beginning but advanced for liquids. She described 17 kg weight loss in the past 6 months and her current weight was 38 kg [body mass index (BMI) 16 kg/m2]. Dyspnea presented with effort and lying was included after 1 month. There was no disease or surgery except chronic hepatitis C in her medical history. Physical examination revealed hyponasal speech and a mass beside the tongue base. A smoothly surfaced 4 × 3-cm vascular mass in oropharynx was determined in endoscopic exami

BACKGROUND: Pyogenic granuloma (PG) is a common benign acquired vascular tumor. It classically presents as a solitary friable nodule on the face or distal extremities. Disseminated eruption is rare and can occur spontaneously or secondary to various triggers, including burn injury. To date, the literature reports only 13 cases of eruptive PGs following burn injury, most from exposure to boiling milk or water. We report the first case of disseminated eruptive PGs following a lightning injury.
CASE: A 17-year-old previously healthy boy developed second- and third-degree burns following lightnin

Pyogenic granuloma is a benign vascular tumor that may affect the gastrointestinal tract. This report describes a rare case of sigmoid-colon pyogenic granuloma in a 4-month-old boy causing intussusception. Resection and anastomosis were curative. The mother had history of high dose of progesterone exposure during initial weeks of conception for vaginal bleeding. This may point towards etiology of the lesion.

BACKGROUND: Extramedullary hematopoiesis in the adult life is usually associated with hematological disorders. It can often occur in several organs under certain pathological conditions, including the spleen, liver, and skin, which are normal sites during the embryogenesis, the skin being very uncommon.
CASE REPORT: A case of extramedullary hematopoiesis in a granuloma pyogenicum at the anterior aspect of the right thigh of a 31-year-old Japanese man is reported.
RESULTS: Histologic examination revealed an ulcerated polypoid lesion composed of numerous newly formed capillaries and a myxoid e

BACKGROUND: Pyogenic granulomas are ulcerated vascular proliferations, often accompanied by inflammatory infiltrates, which rarely affect the eye. Only few reports on pyogenic granulomas of the cornea have been presented.
METHODS: The enucleated globe containing the corneal tumor was examined histopathologically, and special immunohistochemical stains were performed.
RESULTS: The lesion had a yellowish appearance with marked vascularization. The inflammatory infiltrate was mainly composed of mononuclear cells, with no multinucleated giant cells, and was located anterior to Bowman's layer, le

Two cases of pyogenic granuloma recurred despite what was originally thought to be a sufficient surgical excision. The granulomas presented clinically as polypoid structures, one on the finger and one on the chin. On histologic examination, all showed polypoid configuration with lobules of small vessels and endothelial cell proliferation. The recurrent lesions also showed similar lobules, but interspersed between the collagen bundles in the deeper dermis. Vascular tumors such as the lobular pyogenic granulomas, intravenous capillary hemangiomas, and acquired tufted angiomas were compared to ou

BACKGROUND: The aim of the present investigation was to evaluate the literature recurrence of peripheral giant cell granuloma and pyogenic granuloma associated with dental implants. It's important to know the characteristics present in these lesions and possible effects on the prognosis of dental implants.
METHODS: An electronic search without time restrictions was done in the databases: PubMed/Medline. With the keywords "Granuloma" OR "Granuloma, Giant Cell" OR "peripheral giant cell" OR "Granuloma, Pyogenic" AND "Dental implants" OR "Oral implants".
RESULTS: After applying the inclusion an…

INTRODUCTION: Angiogenesis is vital in the aetiology and pathogenesis of a number of pathological processes that include solid reactive lesions like pyogenic granuloma and chronic inflammatory disorders like periapical granuloma. Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) is a potent proangiogenic cytokine secreted by many cell types which present several pivotal functions in physiologic and pathologic angiogenesis.
AIM: The aim of the present study was to evaluate and compare the expression of VEGF in oral Pyogenic Granuloma (PG) and Periapical Granuloma (PAG) and also to correlate with the i

Pyogenic granuloma (PG) is a benign vascular neoformation, presenting as a painful red nodule on the skin, mucosa or nail apparatus. It is usually related to local complications such as bleedings and superinfections. The etiology of PG remains still unclear, and several triggers can lead to its formation. In case of multiple lesions, systemic conditions and drugs remain the main causes. Antineoplastic treatments, retinoids, antiretrovirals, hormones and anticonvulsants are frequently implicated in PG formation. In literature, PG has been rarely described in the course of biological treatment d

BACKGROUND: Pyogenic granulomas are acquired, benign growths of capillary blood vessels that are commonly seen in the pediatric population. Patients with these lesions often present to emergency departments and urgent care centers with persistent bleeding after minor trauma. Much of the published literature describing the management of pyogenic granulomas, however, is focused on outpatient or definitive therapies, and there is limited information on the management of acute bleeding.
OBJECTIVE: We conducted a narrative review to present and evaluate strategies and therapies available to emerge

Pyogenic granuloma is a commonly occurring inflammatory hyperplasia involving the oral cavity. Surgical resection of the lesion is the mainstay treatment of pyogenic granuloma. However, intraoperative bleeding, postoperative infection, and recurrence chances are more with the surgical technique. Therefore, sclerotherapy has evolved as an effective alternative approach, which is simple, noninvasive, with minimal discomfort to the patient and having little recurrences and few complications. This case report is an attempt to highlight the usefulness of sclerotherapy procedure in the management of

Pyogenic granuloma (PG) refers to a common, acquired, benign, and vascular tumor that arises in tissues such as the skin and mucous membranes. However, it is extremely rare for PG to arise from an empty socket after tooth extraction. Herein, we describe a rare case of PG that arose from the empty extraction socket of the second molar adjacent to a dentigerous cyst of the left mandibular wisdom tooth in a 57-year-old man. The patient's second molar was extracted during the same procedure in which the wisdom tooth and cyst were removed. Subsequently, at 42 days after surgery, an exophytic mass w
