Here we report a rare case of primary T-cell lymphoma of the thyroid gland. A 32-year-old Chinese man was admitted to our hospital because of marked goiter and subcutaneous nodules. Computed tomography (CT) scan of the neck disclosed diffuse enlargement of the thyroid gland. A diagnosis of peripheral T-cell lymphoma was made according to cytopathological findings of fine-needle aspiration (FNA) of the thyroid gland and skin biopsy. We report a case of p16-positive oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma in which a hepatic lesion initially presumed to be a benign hepatic cystic lesion was subsequently identified to be cystic metastasis. We report the case of a woman in her late 60s who presented to our hospital with fever and general fatigue. Investigation revealed bicytopenia, splenomegaly and central hypothyroidism. Brain MRI revealed enlargement of the anterior pituitary lobe. Adult T-cell leukemia (ATL) is characterized by peripheral lymph node enlargement, hepatosplenomegaly and skin lesions. The association of local mass lesions of other organs with ATL is extremely rare. A histological study was made of right-sided carotid bodies resected therapeutically from 50 patients with bronchial asthma. Also studied as controls were 10 right-sided carotid bodies from subjects coming to necropsy. Hypoxaemia was considered a contra-indication to glomectomy and only patients with a resting arterial oxygen tension exceeding 65 mm Hg were submitted to operation. AIM: The aim of this animal study was to elucidate vascular response after femoropopliteal bare nitinol self-expanding stents (SESs) implantation.
METHODS: Misago, Smart Flex, or Innova stent was randomly implanted in 36 swine femoropopliteal arteries. At week 4, quantitative vessel analysis (QVA) was performed on 36 legs, of which 18 underwent histological evaluation after angiography. BACKGROUND: Facial lipoatrophy, a common alteration among HIV-1-infected, antiretroviral-treated patients, is often corrected using autologous transplantation.
