Er:YAG Laser and Hemolasertherapy: Bone and Gingiva Gain-Case Report.

Background: Modern dentistry has increasingly valued conservative and biologically less invasive clinical practices, seeking to preserve the patients' tissues and natural dental elements. Most extractions in the dental clinic are preceded by periodontal disease that presents bone and gingival tissue loss, compromising the aesthetics as well as the support of dental elements. Objectives: The clinical approach in these cases often involves bone exertion followed by the successful installation of osseointegrated implants. Material and Methods: In this study, a case of extensive periodontal involv

Investigating the efficacy of a fractionated 1927 nm laser for diffuse dyspigmentation and actinic changes.

OBJECTIVES: Facial actinic irregularities are frequent targets for noninvasive, energy-based treatment. These irregularities are multifactorial and driven by both intrinsic factors such as aging, genetics, and hormone exposure, and extrinsic factors, such as UV exposure. Clinically, this photodamage manifests as dyschromic skin disorders like melasma and actinic features such as solar lentigines. Fractionated 1927 nm (f1927 nm) nonablative lasers are suitable for targeting epidermal lesions and have been shown to be effective in resurfacing photoaged skin as well as addressing pigmented lesion

Q-switched Nd:YAG laser versus itraconazole pulse therapy in treatment of onychomycosis: A clinical dermoscopic and mycologic study.

BACKGROUND: Onychomycosis (OM) represents about 50% of nail disorders. Oral antifungals have proven efficacy in the treatment of onychomycosis but their associated side effects limit their use. Accordingly, there is an increased need for a safe and effective therapy to induce clearance and improve the esthetic appearance of diseased nails. OBJECTIVE: The current study is an attempt to evaluate and compare the efficacy of Q-Switched Nd:YAG (1064 nm) laser as monotherapy versus pulse itraconazole in the clearance of onychomycosis. METHODS: In this prospective study, 40 onychomycosis patients w

Laser treatment for Cafe-au-lait Macules: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Nowadays, laser is the mainstay treatment for cafe-au-lait macules (CALMs), but no systematic review has been published to demonstrate the overall efficacy and it's still controversial which type of laser is optimal. Thus, we conduct the meta-analysis to evaluate the effectiveness and side effects of various types of lasers in treating CALMs. Original articles reporting the efficacy and side effects for CALMs in laser treatment were identified in PubMed, EMBASE, and Web of Science from 1983 to April 11, 2023. Using R software and the 'meta' package, meta-analysis was conducted for clearance an

Risk of airway fire with the use of KTP laser and high flow humidified oxygen delivery in a laryngeal surgery model.

Airway surgery presents a unique environment for operating room fire to occur. This study aims to explore the factors of combustion when using KTP laser with high flow oxygen in an ex-vivo model. The variables tested were varying tissue type, tissue condition, oxygen concentration, laser setting, and smoke evacuation in a stainless-steel model. Outcome measures were time of lasing to the first spark and/or flame. A multivariate Cox proportional hazard model was used to determine the risk of spark and flame across the different risk factors. For every 10% increase in oxygen concentration above

Q-Switched Laser Combined with Intense Pulsed Laser in the Treatment of Melasma Based on Reflection Confocal Microscope.

Chloasma is a prevalent clinical hyperpigmentation skin disorder that causes symmetrical brown to tan patches on the cheeks, as well as the neck and forearms on rare occasions. The pathophysiology of this condition is complicated, and there is now no cure. Under the light microscope, the full-thickness melanin of the epidermis in the skin lesions was increased, and the dermal chromophages increased. At present, the treatment of melasma mainly includes topical drugs, chemical peels, systemic drugs, laser therapy, and traditional Chinese medicine. With the development of medical technology, inte
