Estimates of the final size of the variant Creuzfeldt-Jakob Disease epidemic have been made by fitting theoretical curves of the incubation period distribution to the histogram of observed annual deaths to 2002, using various assumptions of the mean and standard deviation of this distribution, and also of the efficacy of the Specified Bovine Offals ban of 1989. Unless the mean incubation time is greater than 15 to 20 years the estimates lie in the low hundreds to about a thousand, and the most likely situation, of a mean between 11 and 15 years, gives estimates of about 150 to 500 deaths. We determine the impact of angina class on inhibition of platelet aggregation (IPA) following clopidogrel loading. OBJECTIVES: To study the vertigo attacks known as Tumarkin attacks or drop attacks (DA). DA are characterized by sudden loss of balance with or without falls but with preserved consciousness, and they are supposedly triggered by changes in the otolith function of Meniere's disease (MD).

We studied 128 patients undergoing nasal intubation to see whether the nostril side used influenced peri-operative nasal complications. In the apparently normal nostril, there is no significant difference between either nostril in difficulty of intubation (p > 0.8). Similarly, there is no significant difference in the incidence of bleeding at intubation (p > 0.2), at extubation (p > 0.5) and once the patient has returned to recovery (p > 0.1). Postoperative nostril patency is also similar between groups (p > 0.85).
