Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) is a neurocutaneous disorder caused by a mutation on chromosome 17 of the gene for neurofibromin. Patients with this condition are prone to develop benign and malignant tumors of the central and peripheral nervous systems. A medical history of a 14 years old patient with a female fenotype, external genitalia--Prader 3, absence of labia minora, vagina, clitoris, presence of a hypoplastic uterus, gonads--histologically diagnosed as testis. This is 46XY; Isolated deficiency of antimulerian factor (mulerinhibiting hormone), incorrectly had been diagnosed in the past as 46XY; Gonadal dysgnesis--incomplete form. This had determined choosing of a female sex for the child. It is discussed the significance of a correct diagnosis in similar cases for socializing of the individual.

We report a 76-year-old woman with a virilization syndrome characterized by progressive androgenic alopecia, clitoris enlargement and hirsutism predominating in the face. Plasma testosterone was 711 ng/dl. Magnetic resonance imaging showed slightly enlarged ovaries with a cyst in the left. A bilateral oophorectomy was performed, demonstrating the presence of a Leydig cell hilar tumor in the right ovary. The patient had a good postoperative evolution with reduction of androgen levels and reversion of alopecia.

Metastatic tumors of the clitoris are extremely rare. We report a case of clitoral metastasis in a 75-year-old woman who was treated for transitional cell carcinoma of renal pelvis 2 years ago. The computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging findings are presented with a short review of the literature. To the best of our knowledge, clitoral metastasis originating from transitional cell carcinoma of the renal pelvis has not been reported in the English language literature.

A spindle cell melanoma of the clitoris was associated with a large area of lentiginous melanocytic dysplasia in the vulva of a 51-year-old woman. There was extensive neoplastic of the dermis, a desmoplastic reaction, and replacement of perineurial and Schwann cells by tumor cells (neurotropism). The superficial dysplastic components were pigmented, but melanosomes were not identified in a lymph node metastasis. Here the internuclear areas strongly resembled neuropil. Vulvar melanoma is rate, and this is the first report of neurotropic melanoma in this site.

Based on the analysis of clinico-morphological findings in 302 patients with cancer of the vulva, the author pinpoints further the prognostic value of the factors characterizing the peculiar features of primary tumor and its local and regional spread. The 5-year survival was noted in 56.3%. The prognosis is found to be worse in a decreased degree of tumor histological differentiation, its localization in the clitoris region, in endophytic growth, the increased perimeter and infiltration of underlying tissues, and if regional lymph nodes are involved by metastases.

Two unrelated Mexican girls, aged 14 months and 6 years respectively, with Kaufman oculocerebrofacial syndrome, are reported. Both showed psychomotor retardation, microcephaly, blepharophimosis and delayed growth as the main features; the infant also presented preauricular tags and large clitoris. Comparative analysis with previous cases reveals a heterogeneous syndrome in which the micro-brachycephaly, the mongoloid slanted eyes with different anomalies, the micrognathia and the neonatal respiratory distress are the most typical characteristics of this mental retardation syndrome.

Extensive and/or recurrent condylomata acuminata in 78 women were treated with the CO2 laser. Urethra, clitoris or the anal canal were involved in about one-fourth of the cases. Most were treated as outpatients with the more extensive lesions staged for multiple treatments. After a follow-up period of 6-33 months, 91% of women were free from disease and treatment failures occurred in 9%, some of which may have been new infections. No serological investigations were performed.

A technique for reduction clitoroplasty has been devised which provides an excellent cosmetic appearance for female patients with clitoromegaly due to virilizing CAH. Contrary to previous views, total clitorectomy should rarely, if ever, be considered as an initial method of management of children with clitoral hypertrophy. One of the 4 patients who has undergone reduction clitoroplasty using the described technique has achieved sexual gratification on several occasions postoperatively without discomfort.

Cutis marmorata telangiectatica congenita (CMTC) is a rare cutaneous vascular anomaly. Congenital persistent livedo reticularis, telangiectases, and superficial ulceration are the hallmarks of this syndrome. There is an association of CMTC with other congenital abnormalities in at least 50% of the patients. A newborn girl is described with a diagnosis of CMTC combined with multiple congenital abnormalities including imperforate anus, rectovaginal and urethrovaginal fistulas, and absent clitoris.
