The cyclodestructive effects of cyclocryotherapy and of the neodymium:yttrium aluminum garnet (Nd:YAG) and diode laser transscleral cyclophotocoagulation were investigated in phakic and pseudophakic cadaver eyes using a modified Miyake posterior-view technique and light microscopy. A 19-year-old Hispanic nullipara experienced the rapid growth of an oral lesion on the right lower gingiva which she had first noticed at 29 weeks gestation. Results are reported of rhinophyma treated by argon laser. The therapy is assumed to be based on two features: first, selective coagulation of the blood capillaries which cause redness of the nose and which feed the hypertrophic regions; second, direct coagulation shrinkage of the hypertrophic connective tissue. This study presents 100 consecutive cases of total salpingectomy performed via laparoscopy for indications of ruptured or recurrent ectopic pregnancy, hydrosalpinges, torsion of the fallopian tube, hematosalpinges, or extensive adhesions. In each of 8 rabbits, a fiberoptic with a 1.5 mm diameter metal tip was inserted into the abdominal aorta. Acute retinal necrosis (ARN) is a syndrome of fulminant necrotizing vaso-occlusive retinitis associated with a high incidence of retinal detachment due to retinal breaks and vitreous traction.
