A rare complication is described, in three patients. The tined tip of a ventricular pacemaker electrode was entrapped in the chordae of the tricuspid valve and could not be removed by subtle manipulations in two patients. In one patient, the electrode was removed with partial rupture of the tricuspid valve. The two electrodes remained in the entrapped position and new electrodes were inserted in all three cases. No clinical sequelae were found during follow-up of at least 24 months.

OBJECTIVE: This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to assess the impact and associated mechanisms of lead on human semen quality.

We report a case in which permanent pacemaker implantation using a conventional subclavian approach on the throwing side of an avid softball player resulted in complete transection of the ventricular lead and severe damage to the atrial lead. The site of the lead fracture suggested that both leads were crushed between the clavicle and the first rib as a result of the frequent and repetitive arm movement. This case illustrates the importance of the selection of the correct approach for permanent pacing lead insertion.

We present a rare case of incidentally diagnosed Twiddler's syndrome in a child 7 years after implantation of a dual-chamber pacemaker system with epicardial leads. During revision, an insulation defect of the ventricular lead was evident, despite unremarkable prior pacemaker lead testing. The lead was repaired and a new generator was suture-fixated to prevent re-occurrence of generator manipulation.

Extraction of two long-implanted (11 year-old) active leads due to local infection was complicated by the fracture of both leads with a metal sheath.
