OBJECTIVE: To study the high-risk factors of surgical site infection after cesarean section.
METHODS: We retrospectively reviewed cesarean section cases with surgical site infection and evaluated the high-risk factors related to the infection.

OBJECTIVES: We report our initial experience using laparoscopic instruments and techniques in the performance of radical retropubic prostatectomy (RRP) through an entirely extraperitoneal endoscopic (EE) approach.
METHODS: A 62-year-old man with a Gleason score of 7 and clinical stage T1c adenocarcinoma of the prostate underwent EERRP. The procedure was evaluated for achievement of removal of the prostate and seminal vesicles and for complete vesicourethral anastomosis. In a study including 392 patients we compared two groups of patients according to the indication for laparoscopic cholecystectomy: group I: 293 patients treated for simple cholelithiasis (n = 291) or gallbladder polyps (n = 2). Group II: 99 patients operated for complicated cholelithiasis. For each patient, 14 pre, intra and postoperative parameters were analysed and compared. Mean operative time was 80 minutes. This study analyzed the first 100 laparoscopic cholecystectomies performed at a university teaching hospital by a single surgeon. Patients presented with chronic cholecystitis (92), acute cholecystitis (5), acalculus cholecystitis (2), and asymptomatic cholelithiasis (1). The Waterston anastomosis was constructed in 21 infants and neonates between 1973 and 1977. Sixteen neonates were 1 week old or less and 8 were less than 24 hours old. The follow-up study consists of 121 surgically treated atherosclerotic patients. The average age was 49 years and the male: female ratio 7:5. There were 165 obstructions or occlusions in this series. 59 of them suffered from a subclavian steal syndrome. PURPOSE: To compare the outcomes of arthroscopic ACL reconstruction procedure in 20 middle-aged patients (12 men and 8 women) and 20 subjects younger than 30 years (control group) at a minimum post-operative follow-up of 24 months.
METHODS: Pre- and post-operative anterior-posterior laxity was assessed by Lachman test, pivot shift test and KT1000 arthrometer at manual maximum stress. BACKGROUND: We report here on the successful surgical treatment of ingrown nails by partial resection of the nail plate and matrix using a carbon dioxide laser.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: The subjects of this study were 28 patients (37 cases) who visited our outpatient clinic with the chief complaint of ingrown nails of the great toe between October 1995 and October 1999.
