BACKGROUND: The aim of this prospective randomized study was to compare the traction table and lateral decubitus position techniques in the management of unstable intertrochanteric fractures.

However, its occurrence can be minimized by a well-positioned implant, with a short Tip-to-Apex Distance (TAD). Antegrade intramedullary nailing has become the gold standard to treat two-, three-, and four-part cephalo-tuberosity fractures.
