Drug solubility is a critical consideration in the development of drugs, as poor solubility can reduce efficacy by lowering bioavailability and making it more difficult for the body to absorb the drug. In view of various advantages, deep eutectic solvents (DESs) have gained cumulative attention in pharmaceutics as drug excipients and for the solubility enhancement of drugs. Choline chloride (ChCl)-based DESs are prepared via the combination of ChCl as a hydrogen bond acceptor (HBA) with hydrogen bond donors (HBD) such as urea, glycerol, lactic acid, etc., and consider as green choice as compar

Organosulfur compounds have a pivotal role in the functionalities of many natural products, pharmaceuticals and organic materials. For these reasons, the search for new methodologies for the formation of carbon-sulfur bonds has been the object of intensive work for organic chemists. However, the proposed strategies suffer from various drawbacks, such as volatility, toxicity, and instability of the sulfur sources or the use of VOC solvents. In this review, we summarise the recent protocols which have the goal of obtaining sulfones, thioethers, thiazines, thiazepines and sulfonamides in an uncon

Dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction is one of the most widely used microextraction techniques currently in the analytical chemistry field, mainly due to its simplicity and rapidity. The operational mode of this approach has been constantly changing since its introduction, adapting to new trends and applications. Most of these changes are related to the nature of the solvent employed for the microextraction. From the classical halogenated solvents (e.g., chloroform or dichloromethane), different alternatives have been proposed in order to obtain safer and non-pollutants microextraction app

High-value utilization of renewable biomass resources is of great significance for achieving ecological and societal sustainability. It remains highly desirable to convert agricultural residues into high-performance regenerated cellulose fibers in a green and scalable manner. However, the fabrication of superior agricultural regenerated fibers is demanding due to the inherent anti-depolymerization structure and low degree of polymerization of agricultural cellulose. Here, we demonstrated a recyclable and eco-efficient process enabling the selective extraction of cellulose from agricultural res

CO2-switchable hydrophilicity solvents, hydrophobic amines which reversibly react with water and CO2 to form water miscible solvents, are promising nonvolatile alternatives to conventional organic solvents while offering improved solute separation compared to neoteric solvents such as ionic liquids and deep eutectic solvents. A significant limitation of switchable hydrophilicity solvents is the slow rate of the switching process, which can lead to evaporative losses even of the nonvolatile solvent used as well as incurring a significant energy cost. The lengthy switching procedure can also aff
