PURPOSE: Reports of lymphatics in the anterior human uvea are contradictory. This might be caused due to a certain topography, which has not been considered yet. Therefore, here we systematically analyze iris and adjacent ciliary body with immunohistochemistry by combining various lymphatic markers.

Uveal metastases are the most common intraocular malignancies. The choroid is the most common site for uveal involvement and metastases to the ciliary body and iris are much less common. We describe for the first time a patient with a metastatic tumor of the ciliary body and the iris originating from a squamous cell carcinoma of the oropharynx and demonstrate the clinical and histopathological characteristics.

Melanin biosynthesis is reduced in oculocutaneous albinism, an autosomal recessive disorder. Hermansky-Pudlak syndrome is associated with oculocutaneous albinism but also has systemic complications. The ocular and systemic phenotypes vary, depending, in part, on the genetic mutations. This report presents a case of a patient with Hermansky-Pudlak syndrome and the unique association of iris heterochromia.

We report the case of a 25-year-old male patient who presented with complaints of redness, photophobia, and decreased vision in the right eye of a week's duration. This case report describes the findings in a 10-year-old goat with metastasis of an adenocarcinoma in the iris. Two weeks before admission, the owner had noticed blepharospasm of the left eye. PURPOSE: To describe an unusual manifestation of sarcoidosis as a large tumor of the iris and ciliary body without any other involvement of the body.
METHODS: We describe a 20-year-old female presenting with a granulomatous tumor of the right iris and ciliary body and concomitant uveitis.
RESULTS: Extensive ocular and systemic workup revealed the tumor to be a large solitary sarcoid granuloma. As systemic steroids were not able to control the activity of the uveitis and granuloma, only the initiation of immunosuppressive therapy with cyclosporine A achieved a lasting remission.

BACKGROUND: Cutaneous melanoma is a primary tumour that rarely produces intraocular metastases. We report on a 47-year-old woman who was referred to our outpatient department because of anisocoria.
METHODS: A cutaneous melanoma of the upper left arm had been excised 21 months ago with subsequent polychemotherapy for lymph node involvement. Visual acuity and intraocular tension were normal. Astrocytic hamartomas of the retina are the principal ocular manifestation of tuberous sclerosis complex. Iris abnormalities are rare in tuberous sclerosis complex and include focal areas of stromal depigmentation and atypical colobomata. A new method of measuring the iris contour has been set up with a personal computer. The model of a parabolic curve, an approximate mimic iris contour curve, was traced to define the profile contour of the iris from a photograph. The effects of leukotrienes (LTs) on the blood-aqueous barrier in the guinea pig were investigated.
