Community-led solutions to promote safe institutional deliveries in scattered tribal settlements of Madhya Pradesh, India.

BACKGROUND: In Madhya Pradesh, India, the Department of Public Health and Medical Education has undertaken initiatives to promote institutional deliveries in aspirational districts through community engagement and the involvement of frontline health workers. However, in districts with scattered settlements, hilly terrain, and difficult-to-reach hamlets, geographic and infrastructural barriers continue to constrain maternal health outcomes. In the tribal district of Barwani, traditional beliefs and cultural preferences further reinforce the community's reliance on home-based deliveries, which i

[Behavioral problems in child protection: Understanding and intervening from the concept of complex trauma].

INTRODUCTION: Adolescents supported by child protection services (CPS) represent a population exposed to repeated relational trauma that significantly increases the risk of developing complex trauma characterized by polymorphic symptomatology. The behavioral problems presented by adolescents followed by CPS may fit within this nosographic framework. They can lead to major difficulties in adapting to their environment, especially when the trajectory of polyvictimization is pronounced. Unfortunately, the failure of professionals to recognize this diagnosis remains frequent. As a result, institut

Extensor mechanism injury/failure following spacer dislocation in periprosthetic joint infection: a case series in a single reference center.

Antibiotic-loaded spacers are widely used in the two-stage revision protocol for managing periprosthetic joint infections (PJIs) of the knee, offering effective local antibiotic delivery while maintaining joint space and soft tissue tension. However, despite their clinical benefits, complications such as extensor mechanism rupture remain under-recognized and can severely compromise functional outcomes. This retrospective case series presents consecutive patients treated between 2014 and 2022 by a single orthopedic team at our institution. All patients were diagnosed with knee PJI and experienc

Perspectives on antibiotic management of diabetic foot osteomyelitis: A scoping review on routes of administration.

Diabetic foot ulcers can progress to diabetic foot osteomyelitis (DFO). Intravenous (IV) antibiotics are traditionally the standard treatment for DFO, but it might reduce quality of life, increase adverse events and costs. Our objective was to examine the potential advantages and disadvantages of antibiotic administration routes for DFO to support a future patient decision aid tool. We conducted a scoping review using the Joanna Briggs Institute methodological framework to map evidence on antibiotic administration routes for DFO using the quintuple aim for quality of care. Training a new generation of speech-language pathologists with competences in the management of literacy disorders and learning disabilities in Hong Kong.

One of the recent developments in the education of speech-language pathology is to include literacy disorders and learning disabilities as key training components in the training curriculum. Disorders in reading and writing are interwoven with disorders in speaking and listening, which should be managed holistically, particularly in children and adolescents. With extensive training in clinical linguistics, language disorders, and other theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, speech-language pathologists (SLPs) are the best equipped and most competent professionals to screen, identify, diagn
