PURPOSE: Two cases with optic disc pit associated maculopathy, treated with vitrectomy surgery with internal limiting membrane peeling (ILM) and gas tamponade, are presented.
METHODS: Interventional case reports.
RESULTS: Two patients with serous macular detachment associated with a congenital optic pit underwent vitrectomy surgery, induction of posterior vitreous detachment, peeling of the ILM, and gas tamponade. In both cases, complete resolution of intraretinal and subretinal fluid was observed within a few months after surgery. The retina remained attached during a follow-up of 12 months

Benzene is a gas known to be highly pollutant for the environment, for the water and cancerogenic for humans. In this paper, we present a sensor based on Quartz Enhanced Photoacoustic Spectroscopy dedicated to benzene analysis. Exploiting the infrared emission of a 14.85 µm quantum cascade laser, the sensor is working in an off-beam configuration, allowing easy alignment and stable measurements. OBJECTS: The study aimed to assess the effectiveness and safety of fractional CO2 laser and 308 nm excimer laser in non-segmental vitiligo.

BACKGROUND White sponge nevus (WSN) is rare, hereditary oral mucosa disorder. This condition usually presents as asymptomatic white coatings on mucous membranes that vary in intensity and thickness. Changes are usually observed on the oral cavity mucosa, and other mucosal sites of involvement include nasal, esophageal, and anogenital. In most cases this condition is considered benign since the plaques cause no pain, with no risk of malignant transformation.
