We experienced 4 cases of primary carcinoma of the female urethra during 1998 to 2011. All of the cases were diagnosed primary urethral cancer according to tumor biopsy, cystoscopy, and computed tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Patients were between 66 to 92 years of age at the time of presentation. Presenting symptoms included gross hematuria in 1 case, urinary retention in another case, and vulvar bleeding in 2 cases. Urethral hemangiomas are rare and benign tumors, probably originating from a unipotent angioblastic stem cell. They can vary in size and the clinical appearance can range from asymptomatic lesions to urethral bleeding or gross hematuria. OBJECTIVES: Case report of a 5 cm. male urethral leiomyoma (UL).
METHOD: UL is extremely rare entity, with only seven cases in the literature. Its etiology is still unknown. Leiomyoma may be present in several locations inside the urinary tract. When located in the urethra it usually produces obstructive symptoms, but also may have asymptomatic behavior. Definitive diagnosis requires histological confirmation. Intraurethral neoplasms must be included in the differential diagnosis.
RESULTS: Patient is free of lower urinary tract symptoms after complete excision of his urethral leiomyoma.

We report a rare case of primary amelanotic malignant melanoma of the female urethra. A 58-year-old female with complaint of nodule on the external urethral meatus was referred to our hospital. Pathological diagnosis of the biopsy specimen from the nodule was malignant melanoma. Computed tomography of the chest and abdomen as well as bone scan showed no evidence of metastasis. A 90-year-old female patient presented with dysuria. She was treated with partial excision of the mass protruding from the urethral meatus. Pathological examination revealed non-Hodgkin's malignant lymphoma of the B-cell type. The patient received a total of 42.4 Gy extrabeam irradiation. Our patient was disease-free for 14 months. We reviewed 25 cases of this rare entity reported previously.

Two men with inverted papilloma of the prostatic urethra are reported. Case 1 was a 67-year-old man with complaints of gross hematuria and urinary retention. Urethroscopy revealed a smooth-surface tumor with a stalk at the prostatic urethra. Case 2 was a 76-year-old man with complaints of gross hematuria and urinary retention. In these cases, the tumors were resected transurethrally and were consistent with inverted papilloma histopathologically.

A 72-year-old female with a complaint of hemorrhagic leucorrhea was referred to our department. She had a black tumor on her urethral meatus suspected as a malignant melanoma. Urethrectomy, vulvectomy, partial vaginectomy, bilateral inguinal lymphadenectomy, and cystostomy were performed. Pathological diagnosis was malignant melanoma of the urethra. The bladder and urethra can be the site of various types of foreign bodies. The authors report two cases of low urinary tract foreign bodies. The first case concerned a young man with psychiatric disorders who introduced a condom into his bladder and the second case was an elderly patient with a history of self-dilation who introduced a safety pin into his urethra. In the light of these two cases, the authors review the diagnostic features and management of bladder and urethral foreign bodies.
