Peripheral lymphedema is a chronic progressive and debilitating disorder that results from abnormal lymphatic drainage. Advances in microsurgical techniques have led to the development of new treatment options for lymphedema that benefit from preoperative imaging to select the most appropriate surgical repair. Magnetic resonance (MR) lymphangiography is a noninvasive imaging modality capable of providing high-resolution 3D images of the lower extremities to define the severity and extent of lymphedema and depict individual lymphatic channels. The MR examination consists of 2 primary sequences.

PURPOSE: To evaluate the relationship between left ventricular (LV) twist, shear, and twist-per-volume and the severity of mitral regurgitation (MR). Primary MR is a valvular disorder that induces LV dysfunction. Damage to the optic nerve (ON) is characterised by a reduction in visual acuity. Pre-chiasmatic lesions to the optic nerve may be of traumatic, congenital, tumoral (meningioma, glioma), inflammatory or vascular origins. In all cases, MRI is the choice means of exploration, carried out with axial and coronal sections with a thickness of 2.5-3mm and T1 and T2-weighted spin echo sequences. The coronal sections may be carried out with fat signal saturation for an elective study of the size of the retrobulbar portion of the ON.

Longitudinal relaxation time in the rotating frame (T1ρ) was measured using continuous wave irradiation in normal and infarcted mouse myocardium in vivo. Significant increase in T1ρ was found after 7 days of infarction when compared with reference myocardium or in myocardium before infarction.
