Ureteral involvement in inguinal hernias is a rare occurrence. A 63-year-old man presented for surveillance of renal cell carcinoma with new onset mild intermittent flank pain. CT scan revealed new left hydroureteronephrosis to the level of the inguinal canal with dilated segments of ureter within an inguinal hernia. The patient underwent robot-assisted laparoscopic left ureterolysis and hernia repair. Ureter-containing inguinal hernias represent an uncommon but important source of obstructive uropathy. When encountered, robotic hernia repair provides a safe and effective treatment option.

Small cell carcinoma in the ureter is extremely rare, with few cases reported in the literature. The current report describes the case of a 63-year-old man who presented with right-side back pain. A mass was identified in the right ureter. A nephroureterectomy was performed. Subsequent microscopic examination revealed that the mass comprised a monotonous population of small cells and that the carcinoma cells were positive for cluster of AE1/AE3 and synaptophysin. We report a case of a patient whose clinical status and results of a plain chest X-ray showed digestive tract perforation, but in whom the true cause of the disease appeared to be hydronephrosis, probably caused by a tumour of the pyelo-ureteral junction. The course of the diagnostic process and causes of the false diagnosis and unnecessary laparotomy are discussed. The usefulness of computed tomography scanning with contrast in the detection of clinically unlcear abdominal disorders (i.e. radiologically "silent" perforation) is emphasised.

A Canadian warmblood foal treated for septic polyarthritis was diagnosed with bilateral congenital renal dysplasia, hydronephrosis, and hydroureter at 2 weeks of age based on abdominal ultrasound and postmortem examination. BACKGROUND: Primary B-cell lymphomas of the cervix are rare entities and can present with hydronephrosis.
CASE: An 82-year-old woman with a history of chronic kidney disease presented with fever, altered mental status, and abdominal pain with bilateral hydronephrosis. Despite stent placement and antibiotic therapy, the patient's condition worsened.
