INTRODUCTION: Clozapine (CLZ) is the only proven effective therapy for treatment-resistant schizophrenia, but it is underutilized across the globe. Previous findings suggest a lack of experience with CLZ prescription and concerns about CLZ's pharmacological characteristics are the prime reasons for CLZ underutilization. To our knowledge, it is currently unknown whether the reasons for underutilization and suggested solutions differ between physicians and nurse practitioners. Such differences are important as nurse practitioners are becoming increasingly involved in prescribing CLZ.

We report the case of successful treatment of a 79-year-old male patient with recurrent pemphigus foliaceus with pimecrolimus cream 1% once daily for 40 days. The patient initially presented with localized lesions on the scalp and nose area and was treated with systemic corticosteroids. At his fourth relapse within a period of 16 months, he refused any systemic treatment. Pimecrolimus cream was suggested to him as an alternative option.

PURPOSE: To compare the prognosis and quality of life between radical cystectomy and bladder conservative treatment for muscle invasive bladder cancer in the real world.

The aim of this study was to explore the possibilities of non-surgical management for superficial carcinomas of the oesophagus and gastric cardia. Thirty-one patients with superficial oesophageal or gastric cardiac carcinomas, who refused or were unsuitable for surgery, received endoscopic Nd:YAG laser therapy combined with local injection of chemotherapeutic drugs 5-fluorouracil and mitomycin.
