Endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA) can sample enlarged mediastinal lymph nodes in patients with nonsmall cell lung cancer (NSCLC). To date, EBUS-TBNA has only been used to sample nodes visible on computed tomography (CT). The aim of the present study was to determine the accuracy of EBUS-TBNA in sampling nodes <or=1 cm in diameter. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the pronostic factors of the vulvar cancer.
STUDY DESIGN: This is a retrospective study, of 35 cases of squamous cell carcinoma of the vulva diagnosed and treated at Farhat Hached Hospital (Sousse) between January 1991 and December 2002. The study of the pronostic factors is based on analysis of the following parameters obtained after a period varyinf from 6 months to 5 years: clinical data, pre-therapeutique and therapeutic evaluation, pathologic data, outcome and survival rate.

Identification of early-stage breast cancers has increased over the past 2 decades primarily because of mammographic screening. The general guidelines to management of breast cancer may not apply to the smallest of these tumors, as their metastatic potential may be smaller than larger tumors. The author presents a case of woman aged 77 with esthesioneuroblastoma of left nasal cavity and nasopharynx. There were metastase to cervical lymph nodes. The patient was treated surgically and by radiotherapy. The performance of tumor removing with conservative bilateral neck dissection was used as surgical treatment. We report a case of mixed squamous-cell carcinoma with adenocarcinoma of the female urethra. A 37 year old women who presented with a 3-month' history of obstructive voiding symptoms. Clinical investigation showed a urethra tumor of 2.5 x 3.5 cm. Needle biopsy revealed a grade 3 carcinoma. The authors present a retrospective study of 46 patients with renal cell carcinoma treated by radical nephrectomy including ipsilateral adrenalectomy. CT scan showed a normal adrenal gland in all patients. Histology revealed the absence of adrenal metastasis in all patients. INTRODUCTION: It is difficult to predict which patients with ovarian cancer will require bowel surgery. We propose that sigmoidoscopy performed by an experienced colorectal surgeon could predict the need for bowel resection as part of optimum cytoreduction by assessment of rigidity and encasement of the rectosigmoid colon or mucosal involvement. Pancreatolblastomas are rare embryonal malignancies in childhood. We report a 3-year-old girl with a tumor of the head of pancreas. Staging by bone scintigraphy and CT scans of abdomen and chest did not show evidence of metastatic disease. Tumor markers showed elevated levels of alpha-1 fetoprotein (64 ng/ml; normal 0-10 ng/ml) and lactate dehydrogenase (423 U/l; normal range below 300 U/l).
