A silver nanowire-indium tin oxide nanoparticle composite and its successful application to fully solution processed CuInSe(2) solar cells as a window layer are demonstrated, effectively replacing the traditionally sputtered both intrinsic zinc oxide and indium tin oxide layers. The devices utilizing the nanocomposite window layer demonstrate photovoltaic parameters equal to or even beyond those with sputtered intrinsic zinc oxide and indium tin oxide contacts.

A 40-year-old female dental technician visited our hospital for the investigation of a chest X-ray abnormality. Chest computed tomography demonstrated centrilobular nodules and lung volume reduction, and her serum KL-6 level was elevated. We have investigated the presence, duration, and clinical significance of granulocyte accumulation, using indium-111 granulocyte scanning, in patients following uncomplicated intestinal anastomosis. Eight patients underwent intestinal resection and anastomosis (right hemicolectomy, 5; sigmoid colectomy, 2; ileal resection, 1) for carcinoma, angiodysplasia, or perforation. The site of active intermittent gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding could not be found in a patient until abdominal scintigrams with indium-111-labeled red cells suggested that the bleeding was in the ascending colon. Right hemicolectomy abolished the hemorrhages. The binding of In-111 to the red cell is such that vascular activity could be clearly seen over a 5-day period. Indium-111-labeled red cells might provide an excellent tracer to locate intermittent active GI bleeding.
