We undertook this study to identify DNA methylation signatures of three systemic autoimmune rheumatic diseases (SARDs), namely rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, and systemic sclerosis, compared to healthy controls. It has been proposed that visual motion perception may be used to assess magnocellular or dorsal stream integrity. It is here pointed out, based on recently published data from dyslexic readers, that it is possible for deficient motion perception to exist without there being deficiencies in neither the magnocellular system nor in the dorsal stream. This makes it difficult to rely upon tests of motion perception to assess the integrity of these structures.

Our project team is developing an integrated microphysiological platform with functionally connected vascular, liver and cardiac microtissues derived from a single line of human pluripotent stem cells. The platform enables functional representation of human physiology in conjunction with real-time biological readouts (via imaging and homologous reporters for all three cell phenotypes) and compatibility with high-throughput/high-content analysis. Many U.S. hospital-at-home programs operate primarily as substitutes for inpatient admission. Singapore has instead pursued a nationally coordinated care-at-home framework: Healthier SG re-anchors chronic disease management in primary care, while MIC@Home mainstreams acute hospital care at home. We examine the governance, financing, workforce, and digital infrastructure designed to connect these programs, and draw design insights for U.S. health systems building integrated care-at-home continuums.
