BACKGROUND: Yolk sac tumor (YST) of the vulva is extremely rare. Seven cases of vulvar YST have been reported to the literature. Due to the rarity of tumors, the appropriate choice of treatment may remain unclear.

BACKGROUND: Computed tomographic (CT) head scanning of blunt trauma patients is expensive, delays care, and necessitates radiation exposure, while detecting intracranial injuries in a minority of patients. Clinical characteristics may be able reliably identify patients who do not have intracranial injuries and consequently, do no require imaging.

BACKGROUND: Eccrine spiradenocarcinoma is a rare dermal appendage carcinoma believed to arise from transformation of a long-standing benign spiradenoma. This tumor demonstrates highly malignant biologic behavior with a high recurrence rate, frequent lymph node metastases, and overall poor survival.

BACKGROUND: Brain metastases are a leading cause of mortality and morbidity in patients with malignancies. Infratentorial location has been considered a negative prognostic factor.
METHODS: This retrospective study evaluated patients with cerebellar metastasis. Statistical analysis assessed age, extracranial disease, performance status and treatment. BACKGROUND/PURPOSE: Sunscreens are employed with the aim of reducing the deleterious effects of ultraviolet radiation (UVR), but little is known about their use in the UK.
