PURPOSE: Comparative study of cyclophotocoagulation (CPC) and cyclocryocoagulation (CCT) as primary surgical procedures in patients with open-angle glaucoma with regard to efficacy and complications.
METHODS: In this retrospective cohort study, 184 eyes of 112 patients in whom cyclodestructive surgery was performed as a primary surgical procedure were examined. CPC was performed on 133 eyes and CCT on 51 eyes. A standardised multiple measurement of intraocular pressure (IOP) was performed on all patients preoperatively and at the follow-up examination after an average of 5.5 (1.5-12) months.

PURPOSE: To document the anatomical effects of clear lens extraction by phacoemulsification versus trabeculectomy on anterior chamber angle in patients with primary angle-closure glaucoma (PACG).
METHODS: Gonioscopy and ultrasound biomicroscopy (UBM) were performed pre-operatively, and at 1 year after clear lens extraction or trabeculectomy in PACG eyes.

OBJECTIVE: To determine the long-term visual acuity (VA) outcome of eyes with ambulatory vision (20/80 or better) that were treated with transscleral laser cyclotherapy.
DESIGN: Observational case series.
PARTICIPANTS: Twenty-one eyes of 21 patients who had been treated with laser cyclotherapy and who had been followed up at least 1 year.
METHODS: A retrospective chart review was conducted to record the prelaser best-corrected VA and then the last available post laser VA and duration of follow-up. Additional laser or surgical interventions for glaucoma control were also recorded.

This report describes a potential complication following the repair of a traumatic cyclodialysis cleft in a pediatric patient using a novel technique. A healthy 11-year-old boy suffered a blunt traumatic tennis ball injury to his left eye. He underwent repair of a retinal dialysis with detachment shortly after the injury. Postoperatively, he developed persistent hypotony, shallow anterior chamber, and hypotony maculopathy. An occult cyclodialysis cleft was suspected. UBM presents us with a new method of imaging the anterior segment of the eye at high resolution.
