Fibrous dysplasia of bone is a congenital, sporadic developmental disorder characterized by immature fibrous connective tissue and bone deformities. Hepatic Tc-99m-MDP uptake is a rare, serendipitous finding during bone scanning studies. The present patient was a 25-year-old male who had severe polyostotic fibrous dysplasia. The authors report a patient with persistent left knee pain after traumatic injury. The initial bone scan seemed to confirm a valgus stress knee injury. The final diagnosis, however, was focal inflammation of the knee ligaments (enthesopathy) related to ankylosing spondylitis. The diagnostic procedure and the results of other imaging modalities are presented. The bone scan findings are discussed.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the function of fluorine-18-fluorodeoxyglucose (18F-FDG) in the diagnose of hypopharyngeal cancer.
METHOD: Twenty patients with hypopharyngeal cancer were entered in the research. Every clinical information was collected carefully, including 18F-FDG, CT scanner and panendoscopy (pharyngo-laryngo-broncho-oesophagien), compared and analysed with each other.

PURPOSE: We evaluate clinical characteristics of primary vesicoureteral reflux in infants in a multicenter study in Japan with special reference to the relation of renal parenchymal damage to urinary tract infection and gender.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: Infants younger than 1 year old with primary vesicoureteral reflux were recruited from 14 hospitals during the 3-year registration period beginning in January 1996 and ending in December 1998. The authors present the results of 6 cases of lumbar vertebroplasty in the treatment generalized neoplastic disease. In the analyzed group there were 4 females and 2 males (average age: 57 years).
