Brainstem tumors are rare, even rarer is a brainstem tumor containing tissues of an embryologic gynecologic origin. We report a very rare case of presence of a calcified heterogeneously contrast enhancing brainstem mass of Müllerian origin in a patient in a 38 year old female with no female genital tract cancer and past surgical history of ventriculoperitoneal (VP) shunt placement for congenital hydrocephalus. BACKGROUND: Frame-based stereotactic biopsy has proven to be a safe procedure with a high diagnostic yield for patients. Different supratentorial localizations can easily be accessed by standardized stereotactic approaches. Cerebellar and brainstem lesions, however, are not easy to reach because the positioning of the frame pins often makes it impossible to address the entry point properly.

Bruns nystagmus is an uncommon, bidirectional optokinetic disturbance associated with advanced cerebellopontine angle tumours. INTRODUCTION: Hemangioblastomas (HBs) are rare WHO grade I neoplasms of uncertain histogenesis. Most are sporadic and association with von Hippel-Lindau disease (VHL) is uncommon.
