We describe an inexpensive paper-based sensor for rapid detection of low concentrations (ppm) of hydrogen cyanide gas. With either cellulose or glass fiber papers, spectral changes occurred within 10 s of exposure to 5.0 ppm hydrogen cyanide gas (NIOSH recommended short-term exposure limit). We report an unusual case of miliary tuberculosis in a 77-year-old Filipino man with hypertension, diabetes mellitus, nephrolithiasis status-post left nephrectomy, presenting with 1 month of fever, generalised weakness and weight loss. In the present study, we characterized the evoked electrical activity from T(13) to S(2) dorsal roots (DRs) during glass probe-stimulation of the vagina-cervix-uterus junction (VCUJ) of female Wistar rats.
