From LLMs to AI agents: a systematic benchmark for SAO structure extraction in patent analytics.

The continuous growth of patent literature has placed new demands on technological innovation and automated processing, particularly in the task of extracting Subject-Action-Object (SAO) relationships. This study constructs an information extraction benchmark framework tailored for the collaborative robotics domain, comparing three large language models—GPT-4o, Gemini 1.5 Pro, and Claude 3.5 Sonnet—and their corresponding agents. The experimental design employs a closed-loop “reflection and refinement” model, integrating the thought chain and ReAct method strategies, and configures decoding pa

Accuracy and Error Patterns of References Generated by Large Language Models in Endodontics: The Role of Prompt Design and Model Selection.

BACKGROUND Large language models (LLMs) are increasingly used in healthcare; concerns persist regarding the accuracy of generated bibliographic references. The effect of prompt design on reference reliability has not been clearly established. This comparative experimental study evaluated the impact of prompt specificity on LLM-generated reference accuracy in endodontics and compared model performance. MATERIAL AND METHODS We used ChatGPT 5 and Claude Sonnet 4.6. Ten predefined endodontic queries were combined with 3 prompt types of increasing specificity. Each model generated 5 references per

Estimation and inference for step-function selection models in meta-analyses with dependent effects.

Meta-analyses in social science fields face multiple methodological challenges arising from how primary research studies are designed and reported. One challenge is that many primary studies report multiple relevant effect size estimates, leading to a data structure with dependent observations. Another is selective reporting bias, which arises when the availability of study findings is influenced by the statistical significance of results. Although many selective reporting diagnostics and bias-correction methods have been proposed, few are suitable for meta-analyses involving dependent effect

QSPR modeling of physicochemical properties of SSRI and SNRI antidepressants using advanced molecular graph descriptors.

The Quantitative Structure-Property Relationship (QSPR) modeling is a successful computational technique that is capable of predicting physicochemical properties on the basis of the molecular structure. Twenty-five commonly used antidepressant drugs were used in the present study and a complete QSPR analysis was carried out by using neighborhood degree-based topological indices obtained from chemical graph theory. Molecular graphs, with the hydrogen atoms suppressed, were calculated nine topological descriptors; the correlations between these descriptors and eight measured physicochemical prop

Improving In Silico Cardiac Safety Prediction by Consensus Averaging of Transmural Ventricular Cell Models.

PURPOSE: Established in silico frameworks for assessing Torsade de Pointes (TdP) risk primarily rely on single-cell electrophysiological biomarkers, which have demonstrated strong predictive capabilities. However, ventricular transmural electrophysiological heterogeneity is known to influence repolarization dynamics and arrhythmogenic mechanisms. Explicitly incorporating endocardium, epicardium, and mid-myocardium representations may enhance physiological interpretability, but direct integration of multi-cell features can introduce severe multicollinearity and compromise model stability. A new anthropomorphic articulated total body model for forensic investigations: Validation through cadaver data.

Articulated total body models have proved to be a useful tool for multibody analyses focused on human body behaviour. Historically, they have found wide applications in vehicle crash analyses, while the respective use in forensic biomechanics is less common and is hampered by the use of generic, simplified geometries and mechanical properties. The article introduces one advancement in these models aimed to replicate the outer geometry more faithfully as this aspect is crucial whenever the expected scenario includes one or more impacts between the human body and the environment. This accurate r

Peak landing force as a predictor of regional proximal femur bone mineral density in physically inactive postmenopausal women.

The proximal femur is a clinically relevant site in postmenopausal skeletal health, yet the association between countermovement jump (CMJ)-derived biomechanical variables and regional proximal femur bone mineral density (BMD) remains insufficiently explored. This study examined the relationship between CMJ-derived parameters and proximal femur BMD in physically inactive postmenopausal women. 120 women were recruited, and 110 were included in the final analysis after exclusion of invalid jump trials. BMD was assessed by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry at the femoral neck, greater trochanter, f

When rhythm guides speech production: Insights from Parkinson's disease and spinocerebellar ataxia.

Rhythmic auditory exposure modulates subsequent speech processing, yet its effect on speech production remains poorly understood. People with Parkinson's disease (PD) or spinocerebellar ataxia (SCA) suffer from dysarthria, for which there is no treatment. Using a rhythmic priming approach, we investigated whether brief rhythmic primes modulate speech production and facilitate it in people with PD and SCA considered here as clinical models of basal ganglia dysfunction and cerebellar dysfunction, respectively. Fifty-eight native French speakers (20 controls, 24 people with PD, 14 people with SCA

The impact of head and thorax elevation on respiratory mechanics during cardiopulmonary resuscitation: a multi-model study.

BACKGROUND: The impact on ventilation of head and thorax elevation (HTE) and the use of an impedance threshold device (ITD) during cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) remains poorly understood. The aim was to describe the impact on ventilation and absolute lung volumes of HTE vs. horizontal (FLAT) positions, with or without ITD use, across multiple cardiac arrest experimental models. METHODS: This was a cross-over experimental trial conducted using three models: pigs, Thiel-embalmed cadavers, and thawed fresh-frozen cadavers. Two protocols were applied in a 1:1 randomized order: FLAT and HTE

Association between pulse wave velocity and extracoronary arterial calcification: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Cardiovascular diseases remain the leading cause of mortality worldwide. Their increasing prevalence has focused attention on new promising biomarkers such as vascular calcification, although its assessment involves radiation exposure. Thus, this systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to examine the association between arterial stiffness, assessed through pulse wave velocity (PWV) and extracoronary arterial calcification (ECC), in addition to identifying possible factors influencing this relationship. A systematic search was conducted in PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science according to PRISM

Differential diagnosis of migraine and tension-type headache based on brain volumes using machine learning methods.

PURPOSE: Structural brain changes in migraine and tension-type headache (TTH) have mostly been investigated using voxel-based morphometry or regional volume analyses. However, the diagnostic discriminatory power of these volumetric parameters within machine learning (ML) models has not been sufficiently explored. This study evaluated the performance of brain volumes normalized to total intracranial volume (TIV) in distinguishing migraine from TTH. METHODS: This retrospective, cross-sectional study included 220 participants (110 migraine, 110 TTH). High-resolution 3D T1-weighted MRI images wer

Blood transcriptomic signatures distinguish Mycobacterium avium complex pulmonary disease from colonization: a multicenter cohort study.

Pulmonary infections caused by nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM), particularly Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC), are increasingly recognized as an important clinical entity, yet distinguishing active pulmonary disease from asymptomatic colonization remains challenging because current diagnosis relies on composite criteria. In this study, we aimed to identify blood transcriptomic signatures that discriminate MAC pulmonary disease (MAC-PD) from pulmonary colonization (MAC-PC) and to evaluate their potential as candidate biomarkers. MAC-positive patients from two medical centres in Taiwan were e

CT-Based Morphometric Analysis of Zygomaticomaxillary Suture Symmetry: Implications for Diagnostic Imaging.

Background/Objectives: Bilateral symmetry of craniofacial structures is a fundamental principle in clinical application, particularly in procedures involving unilateral trauma or skeletal loss. The zygomaticomaxillary suture (ZMS), located at the articulation between the zygomatic bone and maxilla, is considered a potentially stable midfacial landmark owing to its distinct anatomical position and relevance in surgical planning. This study aimed to evaluate the bilateral symmetry of the ZMS and its surrounding anatomical structures in healthy adults using three-dimensional CT reconstructions an
