BACKGROUND: To evaluate the long-term effects of combined endoscopic cyclophotocoagulation and phacoemulsification (phaco) versus phacoemulsification alone on intraocular pressure control and medication reliance in the treatment of mild to moderate glaucoma.
DESIGN: Retrospective chart review in private practice setting by glaucoma fellowship trained surgeons.
PARTICIPANTS: A total of 261 eyes in the combined phaco-endoscopic cyclophotocoagulation group with 52 eyes in the phaco-alone group.
METHODS: Comparison of phaco-endoscopic cyclophotocoagulation with phaco alone over 36 months.

PURPOSE: To evaluate the efficacy of a novel technique of anterior segment reconstruction and cyclodialysis in patients with anterior staphyloma.
METHODS: A prospective case series of 8 consecutive patients who underwent anterior segment restoration with penetrating keratoplasty and cyclodialysis was analyzed. The main parameters evaluated were structural success of the graft, improvement in visual acuity, and intraocular pressure.

A case of adenoma of the non-pigmented ciliary epithelium with smooth muscle differentiation is reported. This uncommon ocular tumor affected a 36-year-old woman, and had caused decreased visual acuity and a total cataract. AIM: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of glaucoma surgery on retrobulbar hemodynamics and corneal surface temperature (CST).

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: Patients with glaucoma refractory to medical or surgical treatment are difficult to treat. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of contact transscleral diode laser cyclophotocoagulation (DLPC) on these patients' intra-ocular pressure (IOP) and visual acuity.
PATIENTS AND METHODS: 37 eyes of 36 patients who suffered from refractory glaucoma and who had undergone DLPC, were followed at the Eye Clinic of Verona University for an average of 14 +/- 4 months. The average age was 54 +/- 26 years. IOP, visual acuity and ocular complications were analysed.
