BACKGROUND: Microgravity induces redistribution of body fluids and reductions in muscle and bone mass. These effects correlate with changes in lab test results, including urea and bone minerals. Difficulties with collecting blood and urine during space missions limit the available data. This pilot study investigated metabolic changes during a space mission using untimed spot samples of urine and saliva. The advanced interatrial block (A-IAB) (P ≥ 120 ms plus ± pattern in II, III and aVF) corresponds at atrial level, to right or left advanced bundle branch block at ventricular level, and it is well known that these patterns may be seen transiently in relation to taquicardia or bradycardia (tachycardia or bradycardia dependent right or left bundle branch block). We present for the first time, the same phenomenon at atrial level. In one case, the A-IAB appears in relation to tachycardization and in the other disappears during a pause induced by ventricular premature complex.

OBJECTIVES: To assess the prognostic significance of an early normal/mildly abnormal conventional EEG (cEEG) on seizure risk in neonates undergoing therapeutic hypothermia.
METHODS: We reviewed the video-EEG recordings from a large cohort of neonates treated with therapeutic hypothermia for hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy from 2008 to 2017 in a single tertiary center. Continuous video-EEG was started as soon as possible (median 8.2 h) and continued throughout hypothermia and rewarming.
