OBJECTIVES: Isolated male epispadias defect is present in 10% of cases of epispadias-exstrophy complex. Surgical repair of epispadias malformation remains debatable as evident by the different techniques adopted. The current study presents our experience in partial penile disassembly for isolated epispadias repair.
METHODS: Epispadias repair was performed on 11 male patients aged 4 to 13 years. Two were penopubic, 6 penile, and 3 glanular. All cases were fresh. Extensive disassembly of penile components was performed to the corporal attachments down to the horizontal branches of pubic bones.

INTRODUCTION: Fractures of the distal radius are one the commonest orthopaedic injuries. Recent advances in implant technology have seen a dramatic rise in the number of fractures treated with volar locked plates, as they permit accurate peri-articular reconstruction. The surgical approach along the bed of flexor carpii radialis (FCR) tendon encounters a number of key soft tissue and neurovascular structures during the dissection to the fracture plane. INTRODUCTION: A stable fixation of highly unstable proximal humerus fractures remains challenging and complication rates, especially secondary varus dislocation, remains high. Different techniques of double plate osteosynthesis have been suggested for the treatment of complex proximal humeral fractures as they are well established for other fractures. The aim of this study was to evaluate an operative technique using an angular stable lateral plate supported by a one-third tubular plate positioned anteriorly at the lesser tuberosity for unstable proximal humeral fractures.

BACKGROUND CONTEXT: Most atlas fractures can be effectively treated nonoperatively with external immobilization unless there is an injury to the transverse atlantal ligament. OBJECTIVE: This study intended to ascertain the dimensional effects of labial bone thickness and height on the mechanobiological stimuli distribution of maxillary anterior labial bone through biomechanical analysis.
