Interventions to Improve Treatment Adherence in Psoriasis: A Systematic Review.

Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease for which long-term treatment adherence is essential to achieve and maintain disease control. However, adherence remains suboptimal in routine clinical practice. While a range of interventions have been developed to support adherence, variability in intervention design and outcome reporting has limited the ability to draw clear conclusions regarding their effectiveness. This systematic review aimed to evaluate interventions designed to improve treatment adherence among patients with psoriasis, to synthesise evidence on adherence outcomes as well

CRSwNP in the biologics era: evaluating patient-reported quality of life outcomes.

Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) is a prevalent type 2 inflammatory disorder that substantially impairs patient quality of life (QoL) through cardinal symptoms of nasal obstruction, olfactory dysfunction, and sleep disturbance, further compounded by frequent comorbidities including asthma and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug-exacerbated respiratory disease (NERD). While conventional therapies with intranasal corticosteroids, systemic corticosteroids, and endoscopic sinus surgery remain foundational, their limitations in achieving durable disease control have prompted the e

Gene Therapy for Glaucoma: Overcoming Limitations of Traditional Therapeutics.

Glaucoma is a chronic neurodegenerative disease characterized by the deterioration of the optic nerve and the progressive loss of retinal ganglion cells (RGCs), making it a leading cause of irreversible blindness worldwide. This neurodegenerative process is characterized by the apoptotic death of neurons whose axons constitute the optic nerve, leading to permanent visual field deficits. Although current standard-of-care therapies-including pharmacological, laser, and surgical interventions-mainly target reducing intraocular pressure (IOP), their clinical efficacy remains limited due to side ef

Eosinophilic esophagitis is associated with increased risk of allergic conjunctivitis: a multicenter cohort study.

BACKGROUND: Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) is a chronic, Th2-driven inflammatory esophageal disease frequently associated with atopic disorders. However, ocular comorbidities in EoE, particularly allergic conjunctivitis, have not been well characterized. In this study, we compare the incidence of ocular outcomes, with a focus on allergic conjunctivitis, between patients with EoE and matched controls with gastroesophageal reflux disease with esophagitis (GERD-E). METHODS: We conducted a retrospective, propensity score-matched cohort study using the TriNetX Global Collaborative Network, includi
