Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) is a life-threatening disease which, if untreated, leads to right ventricular failure and often death. Several effective therapies are now available for PAH, including endothelin receptor antagonists, phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitors, and prostacyclin analogs. OBJECTIVE: To assess the efficacy and safety of the dinoprostone vaginal insert compared to repeated prostaglandin administration (including dinoprostone and misoprostol) in women at term.
METHODS: Electronic databases and additional handsearching were used to identify randomized controlled trial (RCT). We included studies reporting data separately for nulliparous and/or multiparous in women with unfavourable cervix (Bishop <5) and intact membranes. The primary efficacy outcome was caesarean section (CS) rate. Primary safety outcome was uterine hyperstimulation requiring immediate delivery.

IMPORTANCE OF THE FIELD: Cholinesterase inhibitors are the mainstay of symptomatic therapy for Alzheimer's disease (AD). Rivastigmine, an inhibitor of both acetylcholinesterase and butyrylcholinesterase, is available as a transdermal patch and in oral forms. It is also approved for the treatment of Parkinson's disease dementia (PDD) in many countries. The objective of this article is to review the safety and tolerability profile of transdermal and oral rivastigmine in AD and PDD patients.

A 29-year-old woman who underwent laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) for myopic astigmatism in both eyes presented with severe pain, photophobia and decreased visual acuity in the left eye eight days after surgery. OBJECTIVE: To study 10 years compliance with oral hormonal replacement therapy (HRT).
METHODS: One hundred and fifty-one early postmenopausal women were initially randomly allocated to three groups in a double blind, 2-year placebo controlled trial. Fifty women received continuous combined therapy, 50 were placed on sequential therapy, while the last 51 women were given placebo for 2 years and after that no therapy. An 11-year-old girl presented to our clinic with recalcitrant crusted scabies despite repeated applications of topical scabicides. She had no history of corticosteroid use prior to onset of the eruption and no evidence of immunodeficiency.
