An 82-year-old man presented with acute, painless vision loss in the left eye associated with headaches, jaw claudication, and scalp tenderness. Clinical examination and fluorescein angiography confirmed the diagnosis of a central retinal artery occlusion of the left eye. Lichen sclerosus et atrophicus (LSA) is a chronic inflammatory dermatosis with anogenital and extragenital presentations. Patients with HIV infection have a higher propensity for infectious, inflammatory, neoplastic and metabolic disorders. The link with psoriasis vulgaris is explained by well-known pathophysiological phenomena and can be observed at any stage of infection. The aim of our study was to characterize the clinical spectrum of psoriasis in a group of 50 patients with HIV. BACKGROUND: Dirofilariasis is an autochthonous disease caused by Dirofilaria (Nochtiella) repens, a subcutaneous parasite of dogs and other carnivorous animals.
