OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the results of single-stage new technique of perineal urethroplasty with double breasting of the urethra and bladder neck and sphincteroplasty in female patients with epispadias.
METHODS: We have treated 4 patients with severe female epispadias (male/female ratio 6:1) since 1991. They presented at the age of 3, 11, 12, and 23 years. OBJECTIVE: To report one case of VURD syndrome (posterior urethral valves, vesicoureteral reflux, and renal dysplasia) in an adult.
METHODS: 32-year-old male patient with recurrent urinary tract infections and the diagnosis of VURD syndrome after imaging tests ond cystoscopy.
RESULTS: One year after valve resection the patient keeps renal function and adequate voiding without needing dialysis.

The surgical repair of anterior hypospadias depends on the surgeon's custom and the anatomical variations of this anomaly. However, most publications agree nowadays on the one-stage surgery. We report on 585 hypospadias operated in our department. Our procedure is based on the Duplay technique, in addition to personal modifications in order to correct the frequently associated penis anomalies. The procedure is described herein. Aesthetic and functional results are reported and seem to be very satisfactory in comparison with the literature and permit the homologation of our technique.

BACKGROUND: Although bladder catheterization causes contractions, accidental removal and urinary retention are risks of stents in hypospadias repair.
METHODS: An 8F feeding tube was used as a stent in 22 patients (group I). In the other 22 patients (group II), the same size catheter was passed into the bladder, and oxybutynin chloride was administered. The elapsed time to first voiding, pain, and straining was observed in group I and the groups were compared regarding time of catheter removal, accidental removal of catheter/stent, hospital stay, and complications.

MATERIALS AND METHODS: Abdominal leak point pressure measurements were performed during cystometric evaluation with Valsalva's maneuvers in 50 consecutive women 33 to 73 years old (mean age 48.8) diagnosed with urethral hypermobility and moderate cystocele on pelvic examination and cotton swab test. A new technique for primary reconstruction of a congenital anterior urethral diverticulum is described. This operation eliminates the obstruction caused by the distal lip of the diverticulum and at the same time strengthens the unsupported urethral wall using tissue from the walls of the diverticulum. A case of a 2-year-old boy with a rare form of hypospadia is reported. The anomaly consisted of the absence of a part of the urethral stem along 1.6 cm. The defect was filled with urethral mucosa instead of the testicular skin. The penis was not deformed. The foreskin was hooded. The defect was identified as segmentary urethral hypoplasia. This is a rare variant of hypospadia in which the urethral defect is repaired not with the skin but the mucosa.

We report on a new endoscopic approach to the removal of a migrated urethral stent following hypospadias repair. A flexible balloon-tipped guide wire allows the effective cystoscopic retrieval of a urethral stent, suggesting potential applications to the removal of other foreign bodies in the urinary tract.

In this paper it is described the minimum necessary investigation in the evaluation of the incontinent patient, the surgical methods accepted up to date for the treatment of genuine incontinence as well as the facts to be considered and the interrogatives to be solved for the candidate patient ready for surgery as a guide for the election of the most adecuate surgical procedure for the patient. This stands out that the position that the preoperatory measurement of pressure of the urethral closing can lead to the evolution in the operated patients.
