Aneurysmal systemic-to-pulmonary arterial connection mimicking MAPCA in a structurally normal adult: computed tomography angiography diagnosis and endovascular exclusion.

BACKGROUND: Major aortopulmonary collateral arteries (MAPCAs) are anomalous systemic-to-pulmonary vessels classically associated with complex congenital heart disease. In adults with structurally normal hearts, however, anomalous systemic-to-pulmonary arterial connections represent a broader diagnostic spectrum that includes MAPCA-like vessels, bronchial or non-bronchial systemic arterial collaterals, and isolated systemic arterial supply to normal lung (ISSNL). Aneurysmal degeneration in this setting is uncommon and clinically important because of the risk of rupture or hemorrhage. CASE PRES

Cone-beam computed tomography-based grading system for oropharyngeal airway narrowing: a novel diagnostic framework for multidisciplinary clinical use.

This technical report presents a novel CBCT-Based Grading System for Oropharyngeal Airway Narrowing, designed to provide clinicians with a standardised, objective method to assess oropharyngeal airway narrowing using Cone-Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT). The grading system is developed based on the least surface area on axial section measurements/minimal cross-sectional area (MCA) on CBCT. It classifies oropharyngeal narrowing into five distinct grades (Grade 0 to 4). Each grade also has subcategories that correspond to specific anatomical regions-distal to the soft palate (P), distal to the b

Brain-Computer-Brain system for individualized transcranial alternating current stimulation with concurrent EEG recording: a healthy subject pilot study.

In this study, we introduce a novel brain-computer-brain (BCB) system to investigate the aftereffects of individualized, task-dependent transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS) delivered to the motor cortex. While previous studies utilized either a generic stimulation frequency or matched it to an individual's resting frequency (e.g. individual alpha frequency, iAF), our study employed a trial-by-trial tACS stimulation design wherein the stimulation frequency delivered matches the individual's peak motor imagery (MI) performance frequency. 14 healthy subjects participated in both tA
