This study aimed to investigate the butyrylcholinesterase (BChE) activity in mice experimentally infected with Toxoplasma gondii during the acute phase. Twenty mice were divided in two groups with 10 animals each: group A was composed of uninfected mice while group B was formed by rodents infected with T. gondii. Changes that may be expected in crocetin esters (crocins) upon digestion were examined in saffron aqueous extracts for the first time. Chemical characterization of total and individual crocins and other bioactive compounds was achieved by UV-vis spectrophotometry, RP-HPLC-DAD, and LC-ESI-MS. Antioxidant activity was evaluated using in vitro assays and the comet assay. The observed loss for both total and trans-crocins was higher in saffron (∼50%) than in gardenia extracts (∼30%), which were also examined for comparison. In this study, an immunoproteomic approach was used to identify immunodominant proteins from Mycoplasma mycoides subsp. capri isolates. Membrane proteins, extracted through TX-114 phase partitioning, were separated using mono- and two-dimensional electrophoresis and detected by Western blotting with pooled sera from naturally infected goats. A simutaneous distillation extraction (SDE) combined GC method was constructed for determination of volatile flavor components in Pu-erh tea samples. Dichloromethane and ethyl decylate was employed as organic phase in SDE and internal standard in determination, respectively. Weakly polar DB-5 column was used to separate the volatile flavor components in GC, 10 of the components were quantitatively analyzed, and further confirmed by GC-MS. OBJECTIVE: To establish RP-HPLC method for determination of atropine sulphate, diphenhydramine hydrochloride, capsaicin and dihydrocapsaicin in pain-relieving plaster for arthritis.
METHOD: The sample were separated on an Alltima C18 Column (4.6 mm x 250 mm, 5 microm) with the moblie phase of CH3 CN-0.1% H3 PO4. Flow rate was 1 mL x min(-1). The detective wavelength was set at 210 and 280 nm. Column temperature was 30 degrees C.
RESULT: The calibration curve for atropine sulphate, diphenhydramine hydrochloride, capsaicin and dihydrocapsaicin revealed linearity in the range of 2.01-50.25, 15.

Genetic inhibition of the ephrin receptor (EphA6) in mice produced behavioral deficits specifically in tests of learning and memory. Using a fear conditioning training paradigm, mice deficient in EphA6 did not acquire the task as strongly as did wild type (WT) mice.
