Ulcer disease is accompanied by all immune responses with the development of secondary immune deficiency. This makes it necessary to include immunomodulators into the complex antiulcer treatment. The application of a new drug Bestim in the combined antiulcer treatment affects the immune state of the patients favourably. 84 patients with duodenal ulcer and positive by Helicobacter pylori (HP) were divided into two groups. Group 1 consisted of 42 patients who received omeprasol, metranidasol and clarithromycin. Group 2 of 42 patients received rovamycin instead of clarythromycin. One hundred and twenty-nine surgeries were performed from 1990 to 2001 for gastric (50) or duodenal (79) ulcers with chronic duodenal obstruction. Physicians should try to achieve an optimal cure rate with their initial Helicobacter pylori eradication therapy. Most physicians use the same treatment in all their patients. OBJECTIVE: To explore the expression changes of proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) in oral normal mucosa and recurrent aphthous ulcers(RAU).
METHODS: The expression intensity and distribution of PCNA were examined with immunohistochemistry method in 15 cases of recurrent oral aphthous and normal oral mucosa.
RESULTS: In RAU, there was large amount of inflamed cells. In normal oral mucosa, the expression intensity of PCNA was significant higher than that in oral aphthous (P<0.05).
