PURPOSE: To report a case of severe corneal scarring and hyperopic shift after corneal cross-linking (CXL) for the treatment of ectasia following small incision lenticule extraction (SMILE).
METHODS: Case report and literature review.
RESULTS: A 35-year-old man was referred with severe unilateral corneal haze that developed after CXL. The patient had undergone SMILE 4 years earlier in both eyes. PURPOSE: To describe corneal ectasia in cases of chronic Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS).

PURPOSE: Postoperative astigmatism after penetrating keratoplasty is a major problem in corneal transplantation. The purpose of this prospective randomized study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of an intrastromal corneal ring after penetrating keratoplasty.
METHODS: Twenty patients were included, 10 of whom received an intracorneal ring (group 1) and 10 who did not (group 2, control group). Astigmatism in Orbscan corneal topography, occurrence of immune reactions, and occurrence of side effects were this study's main outcome criteria.

AIM: To analyse factors that correlate with best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) improvement after Intacs and trans-epithelial corneal collagen crosslinking with riboflavin-carboxymethylcellulose.
METHODS: A 3-year retrospective study of 14 eyes that underwent trans-epithelial crosslinking and same day Intacs.
RESULTS: The mean preoperative BCVA and spherical equivalent were significantly related to BCVA postoperatively.
