Clinical analysis of 72 cases with Barré-Masson tumors was conducted. All patients underwent operation and the removed tumors were examined histologically. The tumor is characterized by a protracted course, small size, and a marked pain syndrome. The disease follows a benign course as a rule. A malignant course is rare (one case from the authors' practice is described). Operation is the only means of treatment. After thorough removal of the new growth (preferably with the use of a microscope) the pain syndrome is completely relieved as a rule.

Serum cholesterol, triglycerides, phospholipids, and lipoprotein levels were studied by electrophoresis in 43 trauma patients with multiple fractures of the lower extremities and pelvis. OBJECTIVE: Self-injury (SI), self-injurious behaviour (SIB), including suicidal or non-suicidal self-injury (SSI, NSSI) represent an increasing problem among teenagers amounting to a 6-17% prevalence rate in adolescence, yet little data exists on detailed characteristics and associated factors of SI reaching clinical severity. There is also a scarcity of data distinguishing between suicidal and non-suicidal subsamples of self-injuring patients, i.e. showing which predictors contribute to develop self-injurious behaviour with a previous suicidal history (SSI).

This article presents the MaCIS method for treatment of long defect fractures of long bones using the example of a Ukrainian soldier. This method includes locking medullary nailing of the affected long bone by an individually tailored cage interposed through the defect and filling of the cage with autologous spongiosa. In comparison to bone segment transport this method results in immediate full load-bearing capability of the affected extremity with substantially higher patient comfort.

BACKGROUND: Limb symmetry index in the single-leg hop (SLH) test has been questioned for its low predictive value in identifying secondary anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury. The purpose of this study was to describe a qualitative 2-dimensional (2D) scoring system for the assessment of the SLH test and associate it with the vertical ground-reaction forces (vGRF) and sagittal plane biomechanics evaluated through gold standard 3D motion analysis.
