The aim was to compare the renal dynamic scan (RDS) performed with technetium-99-L,L-ethylene dicysteine (Tc-L,L-EC) and technetium-99-mercaptoacetyltriglycine (Tc-MAG3) in children with pelviureteric junction (PUJ) obstruction. A retrospective study was carried out and children with PUJ obstruction who had RDS performed with both Tc-L,L-EC and Tc-MAG3. Children with any intervention in between the two scans or a gap of more than 2 months in between renal scans were excluded. OBJECTIVE: To explore the clinical significance of prenatal ultrasonic diagnosis of fetal nephrohydrosis and its prognosis.
METHODS: Prenatal ultrasonography was performed on 9526 women at more than 20 weeks gestation, and 162 women whose anteroposterior diameter of the renal pelvis was > or = 8 mm were included in this study. The grade of fetal nephrohydrosis was classified according to Grignon grading method. The changes in fetal nephrohydrosis were observed regularly until delivery.

Eosinophilic cystitis is a rare and uncommon inflammatory bladder disease, in which the pathophysiology is unclear; only a few cases of such disease induced by intravesical instillations have been described. We report a case of eosinophilic cystitis after intravesical bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG) instillation for nonmuscle-invasive transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder. To our knowledge, this report is the first case of eosinophilic cystitis induced by intravesical BCG therapy.

We reviewed 15 patients who underwent 16 ureterosigmoidostomies from 1975 to 1989. The underlying disease was bladder exstrophy in 13 patients. Urinary diversions have been performed according to Mathisen in 15 patients, one reoperation has been performed according to Coffey. Two cases of fractured polyethylene double-pigtail ureteral catheters in pelvic cancer patients are reported. Current literature leaves a large void in guiding the management of these catheters. Surveillance techniques to help avoid complications in patients requiring these catheters are suggested.
