High doses of vitamin A exerted no significant effect of the ability of the rat digestive system to adapt to food. The A hypervitaminosis increased the activity of sucrase and eliminated the ability to regulate the activity of this enzyme by the duodenum in the chicken small intestine.

Electrical impedance of the auricular skin was measured in experimental peritonitis rats. Constant voltage pulses (10ms, 4V) were applied to the skin, then the impedance was estimated. Low impedance points were gradually increased after the operation for 7-14 days then they returned to the control level. We describe here a practical autoradiographic method to estimate the rate of serotonin synthesis in brain. A two-time point method (60 and 150 min after injection of alpha-[14C]methyl-L-tryptophan) was first evaluated in 14 normal rats (7 at each time point). After the periodontium of the rat was wounded, the formation of acellular extrinsic fiber cementum (AEFC) did not appear to be restricted to the hard dental tissues (pre-existing cementum, dentin, and enamel). Layers resembling AEFC were also deposited along the inner wall of the alveolar bone. At the time of observation (six weeks after being wounded), cells other than fibroblast-like cells could not be distinguished close to the newly formed AEFC-like layers. We suggest that the deposition of this material was related to the activity of periodontal ligament fibroblasts.
