We report this case of a 45-year-old man with HIV-AIDS on HAART therapy who presented with acute abdominal pain and renal failure. He was found to have pneumatosis intestinalis on computerized axial tomography scan of the abdomen. He underwent emergent explorative laparotomy, which revealed a necrotic large bowel segment for which a right-sided hemicolectomy and ileostomy were performed. INTRODUCTION: This is a report of two male patients (35 and 54 years old, respectively) admitted to our surgical department with signs of small-bowel obstruction.
CASE PRESENTATIONS: Diagnostic workup with plain abdominal radiographs and, more specifically, computed tomography suggested the possibility of bowel rotation. In 2009, a 41-year-old Thai woman who had undergone abdominal hysterectomy 4 months earlier was admitted because of bleeding per vagina without pain during coitus for 1 day. Primary hepatic lymphomas are exceedingly rare in children, with less than a dozen cases described to date. The authors present an 8.5-year-old boy with Burkitt lymphoma of the liver who had isolated multifocal liver lesions that exhibited a multilayered progressive enhancing pattern on MRI. CASE REPORT: We report a case of a 50 years old nulliparous woman who developed clear cell ovarian cancer four years after the PM diagnosis. BACKGROUND: Müllerian agenesis, the second most common cause of primary amenorrhea, affects 1 in 4,000 to 10,000 women. Although the majority of these women have complete absence of the uterus, a small percentage can have a rudimentary uterus.
CASE: A menopausal nulligravida with known müllerian agenesis developed a large pelvic mass and an inguinal hernia. INTRODUCTION: Retroperitoneal hematoma is frequently due lo blunt trauma and is a challenging problem. Incidence of this complication in adults is high, but in childhood is uncommon.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: Analysis of 30 cases is presented. PTS was found between 10 and 12 points, zone II, 12, zone III, 17, and zone I, only one. We observed 33 associated injuries: 17 were pelvic fractures and nine, ureteral rupture. Three patients underwent hepatic or splenic laceration.
